You may have seen the phrase “Clean Girl” involved with hair and beauty products, fitness accessories, or even food items, but what does “Clean Girl” even mean? Towards the end of 2024, being a “clean girl” was one of the most popular aesthetics on social media. This look is known for having a slick back up-do, natural makeup, an athleisure set and typically a Stanley tumbler.
Although we have been loving the comfy-cute style recently, that’s not what it’s all about! This year, I have made it a personal goal of mine to start living clean. I had been doing some doom scrolling and learned about how the chemicals in some of our daily-use items could be affecting our bodies. Yes, there were a few of the expected ones like soda and junk food, but then there were things like toothpaste, deodorant and hair products.
Simple products like these were doing more harm than they were helping and that bothered me. After ranting to my roommate and doing some more research, I realized that there were only a few resources to help find non-harmful products, one being Yuka. Although this is not sponsored, it might as well be because Yuka has been the all-time game changer when switching to clean products.
All you have to do is scan the barcode of your favorite food or beauty products and it will show you a “risk” rating for each ingredient. This is important because living clean means cutting out those dangerous chemicals and finding products that are made naturally. Speaking of which, here are my top 5 clean products that I highly recommend trying!

- Wild Deodorant
- Hello Toothpaste
- Anihana Shampoo & Conditioner Bars
- Thinkdaily Sunscreen
- Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Quinoa Frizz Control Gel
A positive mindset is a major part of living a clean life because in reality, you probably won’t feel like anything is happening. Although there wasn’t a life-changing difference within the first week, it has made me feel better knowing that I am giving my body non-harmful products that will hopefully make a larger difference in the long run.
That being said, I know that this small change isn’t for everyone, but I will always suggest doing your own research. Learn about the effects that the products you use every day may cause. The “clean girl” lifestyle may be just what you need to start off your spring!
