As an employee of K-State Athletics, I often have to tell people, “Sorry! We only take cards.” Many people are upset when hearing this but understand that it is normal in our economy. The real question is, why has this become the norm? Why is cash basically worthless now?
You may have noticed that almost every athletic system owned by K-State has gone completely cashless, but why is that? It’s because K-State Athletics wants to continue providing he Best Fan Experience in the Big 12. Going cashless allows for faster waiting times, a more secure payment system, and better staff efficiency. While some people view this as an inconvenience, money is dirty, hard to handle, and can be less secure. Our services are equipped with secure devices for keeping your information safe.
This entirely cashless system has been used since 2020 in many K-State venues such as ticket offices, concessions, parking, Rally House locations, and other areas of sale. Purchasing tickets on the day of a game has never been easier! Just walk on up to a ticket window, ask for the seat type you want, hand them your card, and now you have a ticket. The same goes for parking, just pull up to the attendants, hand them your card, and now you have a spot to park. To buy tickets ahead of time, visit kstatesports.com.
