There are so many ways the Kansas State Campus tries to create a safe environment. The Office of Emergency Management is responsible for leading emergency prevention, response, and recovery efforts for KSU. Their goal is to minimize all emergencies to create a safer environment for the students on campus.
The simplest way is the K-State Alert system. This system is designed to alert all students of any emergency or situation.
One system that I feel is super important for every person on campus is Wildcat Walk. This is an easy way for any student to connect with an escort to safely walk you back to your desired location. If you just call 785-395-SAFE or press one of the emergency blue lights located around campus, the K-State Police Department will provide a safe walk home. This service is available 24/7, helping to make everyone feel safe at any time.
Another safety service that is important on campus is the SafeRide system. This system provides a safe ride for all students. It is to prevent injuries and damage to property by offering a safe alternative to intoxicated driving along with other threatening situations.
Rave Guardian is another safety system for K-State students. It is a free app that provides a direct connection to the KSUPD to easily communicate safety needs.
Stay safe out there!
