The coziest time of year has arrived! The season of PSLs, gold and auburn leaves crunching on the ground and glowing jack-o-lanterns donning porch steps couldn’t be more welcomed after the sweltering summer we all just experienced.
That means it’s time to break out the fall décor and give your home an autumnal ambiance- but without breaking the bank. It’s so tempting as we see all the fresh fall finds popping up to splurge on a haul, but dipping into your savings for a wreath won’t be necessary this year!
Whether you’re going for a neutral and warm autumnal aesthetic or aiming to go all out on an orange and black Halloween-scape, there is something here for you to bring your home to life in the spirit of all things pumpkin and pine cones.
Throw Pillows
I know we are ALL transfixed with the Pottery Barn pumpkin and ghost throw pillows- but the price tag is the real jump scare of spooky season. Not to worry, Walmart has got your back this fall! With this dupe, your sofa or bed can enjoy a sprinkle of the season with these plush ghosts and pumpkins. The pumpkins come in three different sizes with seven cozy colors ranging from $8 to $20.
DIY Painting
If you’re feeling a little crafty and want to add a personal touch to your décor, this fun activity is for you. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a world-class artist to achieve a look worth hanging on your living room wall.
Head to a thrift store and pick up an inexpensive painting that’s already framed. Grab some paint and brushes from Walmart or Hobby Lobby and make the existing image your own! Add in some spooky friends like ghosts or bats, spruce up trees with red and orange leaves or even some pumpkins on the ground. This can be a great activity for you and a group of friends or a date night!
Steals and Deals
I don’t know if you’ve checked out Target’s dollar section, Bullseye’s Playground, but I always head straight there when I walk in. They usually have really great knick-knacks for less than $5 that can elevate shelves or tables. Recently there have been little velvet pillows, autumnal gnomes that are just too cute and candles to name a few!
Be on the lookout for sales at Hobby Lobby. If a pumpkin garland catches your eye there, wait for the week that it goes on sale.
Amazon has some inexpensive items as well. Type in fall or Halloween décor and shift the price filter to whatever meets your budget. Throw blankets, tea towels for your kitchen or a strand of string light leaves for your table or mantel are small pieces that bring attention to the focal points of your home.
Happy decorating!
