The rise of Tik Tok came with the reinvention of fashion as we know it, bringing a new wave of trends from past decades. The early 2000s, or “Y2K” fashion, has been impactful online, as many creators and influencers are wearing animal print, dad sneakers, shoulder handbags, and layering. The 2000s are back in full swing.
When it comes to accessorizing, more is more. Layering necklaces and rings are a great way to make a basic outfit look more polished. Tight ponytails of the 2010s are gone and have been replaced by claw clips, loose buns, and braids.
Some of today’s trends may seem inaccessible, but if you own basic pieces such as chunky boots and a turtleneck, you’re already halfway there. Experimenting with layers or digging up that old handbag can be just enough to give your outfit some 2000s flair.
