Top Ten Most Anticipated Games of 2018

2018 is hyped to be one of the greatest years ever when it comes to gaming. There are so many big releases coming this year and if you are a huge gamer, this list is full of titles to be excited about, ranked in order of anticipation.

10. Anthem

PS4, PC, Xbox One

Release: Fall 2018 (TBA)

Bursting onto the scene at last year’s E3, Anthem has been a game that many excited gamers have had on their radar. This game allows players along with their friends to tackle missions to save humanity. At the same time though gamers are extremely cautious with this game being developed and published by BioWare and EA. Although, this could be the one game that could get BioWare and EA back into the good graces of fans.  

 

9. Crackdown 3

PC And Xbox One

Release: Spring 2018 (TBA)

It has been 8 years since the last Crackdown game has been released, and the last release left a lot on the table. Crackdown 3 can be the game that puts this series high octane game back on the track. Already delayed once it’s starting to look more likely that the release will, in fact, be this spring.

 

8. Darksiders 3

PS4, PC, Xbox One

Release: Late 2018 (TBA)

Darksiders 1 and 2 were fan favorites, now here comes the third installment of the third-person platformer. This time around players will take on the role of Fury whom of which wields a magical bladed whip. Not much is known about Darksiders 3 just yet but if it replicates its predecessors we’re in for a great ride.

 

7. Spider-Man

PS4

Release: September 28, 2018

An upcoming PS4 exclusive being developed by Insomniac, Spider-Man is the game many are looking at to fill the void for a Superhero driven game. The Batman Arkham series recently finished up and it is time for a new Superhero game to come out and what better way for that void to be filled than by the humor of Peter Parker and all that Spider-Man is known for.

 

6. Far Cry 5

PS4, PC, Xbox One

Release: March 27, 2018

A Ubisoft staple in Far Cry is coming back for its fifth installment, this time the series will move to the fictional depiction of the state of Montana. This announcement caused a good amount of buzz when it was revealed given that the plot will be about homeland terrorism by a religious cult. It’ll be interesting to see how this plot plays out.

 

5. Kingdom Hearts 3

PS4 And Xbox One

Release: Late 2018 (PLEASE!)

5 years ago, at E3 Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced. It is now 2018 and we still don’t have a solid release date yet. The game has been delayed and delayed over and over again for reasons unknown.  We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we can dive back into the world of Kingdom Hearts this year.

 

4. Detroit Become Human

Release: May 25, 2018

If you loved Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls, then you’re in luck with this upcoming IP created by the developer of those two games David Cage. The gameplay demos that have been revealed show that the game is following the same kind of decision-based formula. Expect a gripping game that’ll you’ll want to continue to play.

 

3. God of War

PS4

Release: April 20, 2018

Many thought the series was finished after the third installment, but everyone was wrong. One of the biggest surprises of last year’s E3 came when an older Kratos was shown on the screen, sending everyone into a frenzy. This God of War looks to emphasize story and character more than the previous three.

 

2. The Last of Us Part 2

PS4

Release: Late 2018 (Maybe 2019?)

Although it isn’t guaranteed to hit shelves in 2018 we can dream, right? The sequel to the critically–acclaimed PS4 exclusive is expected to be one of the biggest games regardless of when it releases. Knowing who Naughty Dog is as a developer, we can expect nothing less than excellence when we revisit this apocalyptic world.

 

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

Release: Fall 2018

After months of rumors and all of the leaks, it was finally announced we would be returning back to the wild west for Red Dead Redemption 2. The first installment was one of the biggest games of the last generation. Fans have been waiting years to get a sequel and now it’s coming. Oh, did I mention this is being developed by Rockstar? Get ready because this will be epic.
