McKenna Dempsey, a sophomore studying interior design at K-State, says Thanksgiving is one of her favorite parts of the fall season. “It’s hard not to enjoy Thanksgiving when it offers delicious golden turkey, mashed potatoes with hot gravy, Grandma’s stuffing and pumpkin pie with a sweet dollop of whipped cream on top.”

However, not everyone enjoys your stereotypical holiday goodies. Clayton Perry, a junior studying kinesiology and psychology at K-State, says his favorite fall snack is grapes. This is a great nutritious alternative to some of the unhealthier holiday snacks out there.

Annie Reuther, a senior studying architecture at K-State, enjoys s’mores as a sweet fall snack. “What’s better than s’mores?” Reuther asked

Favorite items you should consider grabbing before you head out into the fall weather:

  • Bomber jacket
  • Coffee mug
  • Hat
  • Mittens
  • Chapstick
  • Lotion
  • Scarf

We all have that one item we cannot leave the house without. For most people that proves to be chap stick or a jacket. Griffin and Dempsey both agreed that chapstick is a must as we enter fall, because of the change in temperature.

Favorite clothing items as we enter fall include:

  • Big coats
  • Cardigans
  • Beanies
  • Jackets
  • Long sleeve shirts
  • Hoodies
  • Jeans
  • Leggings
  • Oversized sweaters
  • Boots

Fall is the time to break out the knitted sweaters and riding boots. Marisa Taylor, a senior studying accounting at K-state, says her go-to staple fall clothing pieces are cardigans and booties. It’s hard not to love a nice comfy cardigan you can easily throw over any top.

Favorite décor includes:

  • Plastic decorative pumpkins
  • Fall scented candles
  • Clear Christmas lights
  • Gold frames or canvases

Fall is an exciting time because of all the décor that comes with it and the noticeable change of leaves. We start to see more rich, deep colors and pull out our pumpkin apple candles to burn as we lay in bed cuddled up nice and cozy.

Favorite beauty products include:

  • Dark colored lipstick
  • Cinnamon and apple scented body wash/lotion
  • Nude nail polish
  • Burgundy nail polish
  • Gold jewelry

Ladies, we all know the satisfaction of pulling out that dark lipstick and nail polish that comes with the fall. Deeper tones compliment the season, so don’t be afraid to reach for that burgundy lip instead of the pale nude.

Taylor and Dempsey both reach for a deep red/maroon lipstick in the fall and their goto nail colors include nude, olive and burnt orange.
